This past June 30 marked the deadline for participating in the “Communicating Africa” contest for schools. The initiative is geared towards students in primary and middle school, with the goal of encouraging them to deepen their knowledge of Africa, and to promote values of acceptance, hospitality, openness to dialogue and interaction.
Students could participate in the contest in one of two ways: by preparing a literary work or by making an artistic work.
After an initial round of selection, judging by the criteria indicated, the Comission has chosen 37 literary works and 82 pieces of art to advance to the final round.
The winners of each category will be contacted directly. The prize will be awarded at a ceremony that will take place in Rome next October 20, 2017. The prize consists in an e-book reader for each winner.
