Spain. An exhibition in Valencia offers a vision of hope of Africa, with images that pay tribute to Kapuscinski.
On 13 January in Valencia was inaugurated the photographic exhibition: "Smile of Africa. Tribute to Ryszard Kapuscinski,"
organized by the Spanish Committee of Harambee Africa International with the objective "to provide a constructive vision and hope of Africa and its people through a tribute to the Polish journalist".
The exhibition, from January 13th to 30ty in the cultural area of the shopping center: "Ademuz", contains fifty images of photojournalist Ismael Martinez
made in Togo and Benin.
The theme of the exhibition: "The Smile of Africa", responds to the spirit of Kapuscinski, convinced that "a smile is the best way to overcome the resistance
of others." The Polish journalist who died in 2007.
Rene Maisner, daughter of the journalist, said the photos of Ismael Martinez with these words: "They are human and, in some way, respond to my father's
desire to to show the humanity of others and, through the others, to become more human ourselves".
The Exhibition of Jaen Ismael Martinez, sponsored by the Schola Foundation, was held in Granada, Jaén, Valladolid, Medina del Campo, Seville, Simanca,
Leon and Oviedo. In the coming months the exhibition will move to Barcelona, Zamora, Madrid, Strasbourg, Rome and Palencia.
