Harambee and International Marketing.
Harambee and International Marketing.
With the cooperation of the “Lorenzo de Medici" school in Florence.
Almost half the students of an International Marketing class chose Harambee as the topic for their "final project" in the class taught by Prof. Giancarlo Polenghi at the "Lorenzo de Medici" school in Florence, which offers study abroad programs for several Universities in the United States.
The students were offered the chance to work on concrete cases presented inside the classroom by different managers such as the Sales Manager of Targetti Poulsen, a lighting design company, and the Sales Manager of Mac3, a leading international company that supplies level regulators for water systems.
But for nearly 40 young students from the United States and Mexico, the most interesting topic was Harambee, the non-profit organization that seeks to help Africa through communication activities and by spreading a positive image of Africa and its people.
After meeting Manuel Sanchez, the Vice-president of Harambee Africa International, the students were split into 4 teams of 5-6 people and will dedicate the next two months of their studies to the elaboration of concrete proposals on how to make Harambee and its initiatives known by other fellow students, both those studying abroad (in Florence, Italy) and those at home in the US or Mexico.
The enthusiasm shown by these students for Africa is proof of the spirit of social commitment that exists between young university students.
