On the occasion of the International Women’s Day, Harambee proposes a zoom meeting with Duni Sawadogo, winner of the Harambee Prize 2021 for the Promotion and Equality of African Women. The Prize, promoted by the Harambee Committee of Spain, wants to support concrete female personalities committed to ensuring equal development opportunities for women in Africa. Duni Sawadogo, scientific researcher, is the creator of the project “Women and Science” for the promotion of women in science.
The award is also given to her for her commitment against the trafficking of fake drugs that harm the most vulnerable, such as women and the poorest children.

During the pandemic, Dr. Sawadogo was appointed to the steering committee of AIRP, a body similar to the European Union Medicines Agency, which approved covid-19 vaccines. Her position at AIRP is particularly aimed at combating the trafficking of fake drugs, which, in many countries in Africa, provides greater revenue than the narcotics trade.

The meeting on Zoom will take place on Monday, March 8 at 18.15.
