We are pleased to share, in this short Report, our achievements in a year – 2021 – that was still very complicated for everyone. Although there have been many obstacles, we have never stopped, and this has been possible mainly thanks to the people we have worked with for so many years in Africa, who have shown an extraordinary ability to react to an unprecedented crisis.
The difficulties we have faced have taught us to be more flexible and even more attentive to the local needs of the most fragile populations. The last two years have taught us that solidarity can only be global. And it is precisely gestures of solidarity, large and small, that generate positive changes, whatever the starting situation.
The growing threats to people’s lives and livelihoods posed by today’s challenges dominate today’s global agenda and affect and involve everyone at every level; therefore, our aspiration to contribute to the betterment of society through service to the most vulnerable is more relevant than ever.
The year 2022 marks the 20th year since the founding of Harambee; the profound transformations in people’s lives that we have had the joy of witnessing strengthen our conviction that it is indeed possible to make the world a better place for all, by turning our values into deeds day by day.
But we cannot do it alone! We would therefore like to thank all our friends, in every part of the world, who accompany us and continue to support us in our daily work. Together, we move forward with commitment, perseverance and trust.
