For the coming Christmas, Harambee has launched a solidarity initiative aimed at companies to help support the training of young people for employment: this is the most effective way to combat poverty in Sub-Saharan Africa.
In Africa, 60% of the population is under 25 years of age; of these, one in six has a salaried job and the remainder work in precarious jobs or are unemployed; this is due to inadequate training, one of the reasons why young people migrate.
Since 2002, Harambee has implemented more than 100 projects in the field of job training, securing the future for thousands of young people each year, thanks to the cooperation of private organisations and individuals. The last two years have shown us that solidarity can only be global. And it is precisely gestures of solidarity, large and small, that generate positive changes, whatever the starting situation.
