Home > Progetti > CAMEROON – Improving Access to Education for Displaced Children and Orphans in Bamenda

Promoter: Ndichia Foundation

Description
In the area of Bamenda, in the north-west of the country, a large percentage of children do not attend school due to a lack of financial and logistical means to support their educational needs; the ongoing armed conflict has hindered the enrolment of children in official schools; many have lost essential personal documents and/or parents/relatives on whom they should have depended for assistance. Left to their own devices, minors easily fall prey to banditry, prostitution and drug abuse. The proposed project therefore aims to help ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for orphans and vulnerable children through personalised mentoring.

Beneficiaries: 100 children to be enrolled in different schools in Bamenda

Contribution requested: € 16,649
