    About this event

The Little Blue Book has been downloaded over 5,500 times. Our Selecting great charities training for funders is based on this practical guide, so we know that the issues it raises increasingly matter to funders. Meanwhile, NPC has been asked to analyse charities such as Sue Ryder using the same methodology, in order to pinpoint successful characteristics and identify areas for development.

The session will be interactive, and we’ll be using your own practical experience to inform group discussions.

But we believe that charities and charity trustees can also use the methodology to assess themselves. The five main areas of analysis can help to frame constructive internal debates about what the charity needs to do to maximise its effectiveness and be viewed as ‘match fit’ by funders. And if funders are using the framework, could it be useful for charities to understand how it is being applied?

Our half-day training workshop covers the following areas in The Little Blue Book:

    • Activities
    • Results
    • Leadership
    • People and resources
    • Finances

    Who should attend?

Learning about organisational analysis is particularly relevant for senior staff involved in developing an organisation’s strategy.
