Home > Progetti > CAMEROON – Literacy Training for Girls in Guissia, Moulvoudaye and Kolara

Promoter
Coordination Nationale des Ecoles Familiales Agricoles du Cameroun – CNEFAC

Description
In the provinces of the far north of the country, the illiteracy rate affects 60% of people aged 15 and over; in particular, 23.4% of girls do not attend school because of early pregnancies. In the area in question there are the Agrarian Family Schools -EFA, promoted by CNEFAC, which offer vocational training in agriculture, guaranteeing youth employment and reducing the risk of forced emigration. The project therefore aims to offer literacy courses to girls in the villages of Kolara, Moulvoudaye and Guissia so that they can then continue their technical training at the EFAs.

Beneficiaries: 105 girls between 12 and 18 years of age

Contribution requested: € 13,500
