Home > Progetti > KENYA – Strengthening the Fr. Gibillini School’s Sustainability, Suna-Migori

Promoter
Ivrea Sisters of Charity of the Immaculate Conception

Description
The Congregation of the IVREA Sisters has been engaged, since 2014, in education and health programmes in favour of children orphaned and destitute due to the AIDS epidemic. In particular, it offers care, assistance and training to 300 girls between 3 and 12 years of age who are received in the Fr. Gibillini School. However, the Congregation has to deal with a financial unsustainability which makes it too dependent on external aid and which limits its ability to carry out its mission.

Activities
The project aims to strengthen the sustainability of the Fr. Gibillini School through the launch of a poultry breeding and sale activity able to generate income to support educational and health activities. The initiative will also help to generate employment opportunities among young people involved in the management of the activity.

Beneficiaries
At least 300 girls between 3 and 12 years old and some young people employed in the management of the activities.
